Selected Projects

I work with indie authors and publishers to help them produce polished manuscripts that keep readers riveted. Several books I’ve edited have been finalists or longlisted for the Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the National Book Award for translated literature. Others have been awarded prizes from the Independent Publishers of New England, Nautilus Book Awards, and others. The titles listed here comprise a selection of the books I’ve worked on as a copyeditor, line editor, or proofreader since 2014.

Outstanding, and I have worked with a helluva a lot of editors, probably none better.
— Tom Walker, author of The Wanderer: An Alaska Wolf's Final Journey
You seem to have just the right touch—you make numerous comments and suggestions where needed, but you don’t go too far, so that we [the co-authors] still feel the book reflects our writing.
— Carl Fiedler, coauthor of Douglas Fir: The Story of the West's Most Remarkable Tree
Erin edited my first book, Medicinal Plants of the Pacific Northwest, and I am now working with her on my second book as well. The depth, organization, and clarity of Erin’s work makes me feel incredibly grateful to be working with her for a second time.

She is gifted at seeing the big picture and mission of the project and helping the project fulfill those promises. She is also not afraid to pull up her sleeves and really get into the nitty-gritty details. For example, she cross-referenced all the harvest dates provided throughout my books with a harvest calendar I created and found a number of inconsistencies that I hadn’t noticed, correcting each one and consulting me for accuracy. She also dug into my recipes with fruitful insights that made the recipes much clearer to readers.

After working with her so extensively, I have a lot of trust in her judgment, her ability to communicate, and her thoroughness. I highly recommend her to anyone, and hope I get to work with her on future projects!
— Natalie Hammerquist Bestselling Author of Medicinal Plants of the Pacific Northwest (2024), and Edible Plants of the Pacific Northwest (2025)
Erin did a fantastic job copyediting my most recent hiking guidebook. Not only did she catch several factual errors, but she also reworked the book organization so that the whole work flows better. Of course, she corrected all my punctuation and grammar errors—and she made suggestions for wording changes that made the book read better. I highly recommend Erin!
— John Soares, freelance writer
I initially hired Erin to proofread my manuscript, which had previously been vetted by beta readers and copyedited, so I was astonished with how many line items she keyed into that so many others had missed. Erin’s careful, skillful work on my manuscript has given me the confidence to move toward publication. I’m very grateful.
— Mary Avery Kabrich, author of Once Upon a Time a Sparrow
